  Silver Jubilee Celebrations Top

Dr.NTR University of Health Sciences organized Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the University from 1 st November to 3 rd November 2011.

As a part of Silver Jubilee Celebrations on 1 st November Smt. D. Purandeswari Union Minister for Human Resources unveiled the statue of Dr. N. T. RamaRao Founder and First Chancellor of the University and the Chief Minister.

On 2 nd November former Health Minister Dr. D. L. Ravindra Reddy laid the foundation stone for Silver Jubilee Building block. Former Vice Chancellors, Registrars and Executive Council Members were felicitated. Silver Jubilee special issue, Journal of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences was released. Medals were distributed to the students of all affiliated courses with best academic performance.

This was followed by Academic meet "Silver Jubilee Medical Education Summit", where Dr. P. V. Ramesh, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad spoke on "Role of Public Health System in the present Health Scenario". Dr. Jyothi, Director, Institute of Genetics, Hyderabad on "Challenges and Promotion of Medical Research" and Dr. Balasubrahmanyam, Professor and HOD, Dept., of Anatomy, St. Johns Medical College, Bangalore on "E-Learning in Medical Education". An open forum was organized in which interactive discussions were conducted between the speakers and the chairpersons.

  Convention on Emergency Care Top

As a part of AP Emergency Care project and MOU with APMGUSA, the First State Convention on Emergency Care was held on 09-01-2011 at NRI Medical College, Chinakakani.

The Second Convention was held on 08-01-2012 at Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad. The theme of Convention was "Emergency Care Education and Trauma Care". Different case scenarios were created to train the faculty and students in emergency care with 3G human patient stimulator. A panel discussion was held on Trauma Systems and the recommendations were sent to the Government.

  Medical Education Conference Top

2 nd AP Medical Education Conference in collaboration with Medical Council of India and Medical Education Technology Unit was organized in the month of January, 2012 in Mamatha Medical College, Khammam on 28 th and 29 th January, 2012. A panel discussion on 'Humanities in Medical Curricula' was held and resolutions were sent to the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Medical Council of India.

  Pre-Service IMNCI Module Top

2 nd steering committee meeting on Pre-service IMNCI in collaboration with WHO, UNICEF, Government of Andhra Pradesh and the University was held on 18 th February 2012 at Gandhi Medical College with an objective of introducing Pre-service IMNCI Module in under graduate curriculum of medical and nursing courses to reduce infant mortality rate in Andhra Pradesh.

  University Convocation Top

University Convocation is scheduled to be held in 1 st week of April.
